Allegiant launches 3 new cities at CHS
Allegiant Airlines takes to the Charleston skies for the first time on Wednesday, April 4. The ultra-low-cost air carrier this week launches three days of inaugural flights to and from Charleston International Airport.
First up is nonstop service to Pittsburgh on April 4. Then on April 5 the airline begins its service to Cincinnati followed by the first flight to Indianapolis on April 6.
“We are always excited to welcome a new airline to Charleston International Airport,” said Paul G. Campbell Jr., executive director and CEO of the Charleston County Aviation Authority. “Allegiant becomes our eighth airline and the second to offer travelers a la carte options when it comes to travel.”
Allegiant also offers a unique option to Charleston-bound travelers with low base airfare and savings on rental cars and hotels. Travelers can book their entire vacation with Allegiant for less.
The flights to Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Indianapolis are all nonstop and seasonal.
The flights will operate twice weekly and will bring nearly 30,000 passengers to Charleston from those three cities. The airline also connects Charleston travelers to a currently unserved area of the Midwestern market.
With this addition, Charleston International Airport becomes home to eight airlines offering nonstop flights to 27 cities and 23 airports.
Allegiant and airport leaders will celebrate the airline’s inaugural launch at Gate A2 on Wednesday, April 4, with the 1:21 p.m. arrival of Allegiant Flight 1416 from Pittsburgh.
