(North Charleston, SC)— Over 62 thousand travelers passed through the TSA checkpoint during the recent July 4th holiday period. That is five percent more travelers during the same time last year.
“With the pent-up demand for travel, we expected our numbers to rise, and they did,“ said Elliott Summey, Charleston International Airport Executive Director and CEO. “With the availability of additional travel destinations, direct flight options, and low cost, consumers are eager to travel more.”
Nationwide, TSA screened more than 2 million people per day during the July 4th holiday period.
