CHS Sees Record Breaking Travel during Christmas Holiday

North Charleston, SC — The Charleston International Airport saw a 16% increase in travelers during the 2023 Christmas holiday travel season compared to the same time last year, according to TSA checkpoint statistics. The numbers are based on travel on the Wednesday before Christmas and the first Monday of 2024.

“The desire to see family and friends or to just get away is stronger than what we’ve seen in years,” said Elliott Summey, CEO and executive director of Charleston International Airport. “I’m so proud of the CHS team, airline partners, and other stakeholders and what we’ve accomplished in offering over 65 non-stop flights to business and leisure travelers.”
