Pack Your Bags: Breeze Airways Launches International Flights from Charleston to Cancun!

The Seriously Nice airline makes history with nonstop service from Charleston International Airport to Mexico’s Caribbean coast

North Charleston, S.C. – Breeze Airways is going international! The Seriously Nice™ airline today announced its first-ever flights beyond the U.S., with nonstop service from Charleston International (CHS) to Cancun International Airport (CUN). The new route begins January 17, 2026, with flights operating once a week, just in time for a winter beach escape.

This is a historic first for Breeze and for Charleston: the airline’s first international destination, and Charleston’s inaugural nonstop connection to the Caribbean.

“We are proud to partner with Breeze Airways on this incredible milestone,” said Elliott Summey, President and CEO of Charleston International Airport. “This new international route not only strengthens Charleston’s connectivity to one of the most popular leisure destinations but also supports our local economy by creating new opportunities for tourism, hospitality, and business travel.”

“Charleston was one of our original launch cities and we’re excited to once again include the community in the launch of our first international flights next year,” said David Neeleman, Breeze Airways’ founder and CEO. “This new route to Cancun will be the third international route from CHS, and we know the community will enjoy the convenient and nonstop service to this beautiful, tropical destination.”

Cancun offers endless opportunities for adventure, relaxation, and discovery—from snorkeling in turquoise waters and exploring ancient Mayan ruins to enjoying the vibrant nightlife and luxurious all-inclusive resorts. And now, Breeze is making it simpler than ever to get there.

“Charleston International Airport has proudly been a part of the Breeze Airways’ story since the carrier’s inception and inaugural service in 2021. It’s an honor to build on that legacy as our partner launches international service,” said Helen Hill, President and CEO of Explore Charleston and Chair of the Aviation Authority. “This expansion is a significant milestone for both the airline and the Charleston region, and it reflects the unwavering commitment of the carrier and Charleston International to more conveniently connect travelers to new markets. Together, we look forward to helping our passengers create unforgettable memories as they explore the beauty of Cancun and beyond.”

Tickets are on sale now at www.flybreeze.com, with fares starting from $119 one way.
