PUBLIC RECORDS REQUEST

The South Carolina Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) grants all citizens of South Carolina to examine certain public records. The Aviation Authority provides access to public records in an efficient and responsive manner by providing many of the records on this website. Aviation Authority Meeting Agendas, Meeting Minutes and other reports are available on this site. Additional records can be obtained through the use of published request procedures and the prompt acknowledgement of those requests.

Submitting the Request

Requests for records shall be made in writing and shall include the requester's name and contact information, including address, email and daytime phone number(s). All requests must be signed and dated. The request can be delivered to the FOIA Compliance Officer in one of the following ways:

By Mail
Charleston County Aviation Authority
FOIA Request
5500 International Blvd., Suite #101
North Charleston, SC. 29418

Note: Questions regarding a submitted FOIA request may be directed to the FOIA Officer at FOIA@iflychs.com

Fees

The Aviation Authority bills only for its costs to fulfill each request. Payment is required in full before the public records are released to you. Actual costs include paper or other media, as well as time spent searching, retrieving and redaction time required to process the request.

A detailed copy fee schedule can be found on the FOIA request form. If the request is deemed to be of a large volume, requesters will be notified and provided an opportunity to narrow their request. If the request is not narrowed sufficiently, a deposit of 25 percent will be required in advance before the request will be fulfilled.
