CHS Celebrates West Gate Expansion
This winter, Charleston International Airport and its construction partners celebrated a topping-off ceremony for the West Gate Expansion Project. The expansion will add four additional gates to the west side of the terminal, increasing gate capacity by approximately 15%.
Substantial completion of the concourse is anticipated in early 2027.
Earlier this month, our general contractor, Whiting-Turner, held a celebration to mark the progress of Parking Garage 3 (PG3). Within twelve months of our groundbreaking, we topped out the first half of the project—that’s 1.2 million square feet of parking garage.
Significant completion of the garage is expected in the summer of 2027.
Parking Garage Three (PG3) Breaks Ground at CHS

Spanning 2.4 million square feet and with a budget of $348 million, this state-of-the-art facility will elevate the airport’s parking experience, offering both travelers and rental car users modern conveniences and ample space.
