Charleston International Airport’s social media presence received top honors this month from the Charleston Chapter of the American Marketing Association.
During the 2018 Spark! Awards on March 8, @iflyCHS was named Best Facebook Presence. The airport’s air service and destinations wall wrap near Concourse B was a finalist for the Best Outdoor Signage award. Chernoff Newman, a Charleston firm that works closely with the airport, accepted the award, which recognizes creative and marketing excellence.
Charleston International Airport maintains an active social media presence on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. It also has a YouTube channel and LinkedIn and Pinterest presence.
“Social media provides our customers with ways to share their travel experiences and allows us to engage more than 11,000 followers with stories about the airport and the people who work hard every day to provide exceptional customer service to nearly 4 million passengers a year,” said Paul G. Campbell Jr., executive director and CEO of the Charleston County Aviation Authority. “In addition it gives us a platform to share timely information about operations, events and other news about the growth and economic impact CHS has on the region.”
This is the second Spark! Award for CHS. In 2017, the airport's redesigned logo was selected for the Best Logo Award, recognizing a two-year project to rebrand the airport and create a visual identity that is welcoming and genuinely Charleston.
