Director extends thanks to community, CHS federal employees

“I want to take a moment and extend my thanks to the many people who have and who continue to make Charleston International Airport unsurpassed for ease of travel, convenience and hospitality.

“First, and foremost, to our Air Traffic Controllers, the Customs and Border Protection agents and the Transportation Security Administration officers whose job is to keep the airport secure and flying safe. We know this is a difficult time for you and your families. We appreciate your work each and every day and we are here to support you in any way we can.

“To the many businesses and individuals in the greater Charleston community who have reached out and asked how they can help, thank you for your kindness. Your gestures of giving and support are appreciated and mean a great deal to the entire airport family.

“Finally, to our customers, thank you for your patience and understanding. Our team works hard each day to ensure your travels are safe, secure and pleasant. Your support means the world to us.

Airport director meets tsa workers

“Charleston International is fortunate to have great teams of people who keep this airport running each day. We consider ourselves fortunate that we have not experienced the challenges faced by our fellow airports across the country. We are operating normally and our Customs and TSA continues to provide great customer service with a smile. As we wait for a resolution to the shutdown, we pledge to continue to provide unparalleled customer service.”
