Live music programming is coming to Charleston International Airport.
Beginning Thursday and continuing into summer, Braeden Kershner of Black Tie Music Academy will perform in various locations throughout the airport. His performances and that of other musical groups will coincide with peak travel times and with special airport and community events in which numerous travelers are expected to fly in and out of the airport.
The Musical Ambassador Program is a first for CHS and comes on the heels of a successful live music effort during the December 2017 holidays.
“Whether passengers are traveling for business or for leisure, we want anyone who visits the airport to have a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Live music will help us do that by creating a welcoming and fun atmosphere for travelers,” said Paul G. Campbell Jr., executive director and CEO of the Charleston County Aviation Authority.
The music program kicks off Thursday with live music by Kershner from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Central Hall/Arrivals area. Coming up on future dates will be performances by a jazz guitarist, barbershop quartet and a Mariachi band for Cinco de Mayo.
