Charleston International Airport has formulated this Emergency Contingency Plan in accordance with §42301 of the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012. This document outlines the procedures Charleston International Airport will implement in the event of prolonged tarmac delays to:
• Facilitate the deplanement of passengers;
• Facilitate the sharing of facilities and ensure gate availability at the airport;
• Establish a sterile area post-excessive tarmac delays for passengers pending clearance by United States Customs & Border Protection (CBP).
